Wine Scoop - Summer in a Bottle

Background: Wölffer Estate encompasses 55 acres of sustainably farmed vines that are meticulously cared for. The unique combination of loam soil and breezes from the Atlantic, located 2.6 miles from the estate, provide Bordeaux-like conditions perfect for achieving the balance of ripeness and acidity that has come to define Wölffer's signature style: food-friendly, elegant wines reflective of Long Island's distinctive terroir.

About the Wine: This rosé and its distinctive bottle were first introduced in 2013, and the limited-edition design was just re-launched for this vintage! The winemaker uses five varieties, grown in different vineyard sites, harvested at the perfect time to maximize summertime aromas and flavors. The result is a complex, balanced rosé with loads of flavor and natural vibrant acidity.

Tasting Notes: This year's vintage is lush and elegant with notes of canteloupe and pear. With a vibrant yet graceful mouthfeel this wine strikes the perfect balance of fresh fruit, minerality, and acidity. What makes this wine so special is that it can be served alongside intriguing foods and across diverse occasions–from an easy summer picnic to an elegant dinner party.
