Casa Dumetz Wine Dinner

4056 Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA 22206

Join us for a 5-course Wine Dinner with Sonja Magdevski, owner and winemaker of Casa Dumetz Wines.

Sonja founded Casa Dumetz in 2004 and has since become one of the most passionate and hardest-working wine makers in the region. By participating in every step of the process, from harvest to bottling, her knowledge is exceptional and her ability to share the "inside story" is endlessly inspiring.

Sonja produces three gorgeous lines of wine, each with its own personality: Casa Dumetz, Clementine Carter, and The Feminist Party. At this dinner, guests will enjoy 5 wines from this impressive portfolio paired beautifully with a 5-course autumn-inspired menu curated by Chef Andrew Hetrick. Sonja will be on-hand all evening to introduce her wines, answer questions, and guide you through the pairings.

With such tiny production, you will not find these wines ANYWHERE else. And one is so new, you will be some of the very first to taste it.

$79/person includes tax and gratuity.

(Must be 21 years of age to attend. Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferrable, so let us know if you'll be giving your tickets to others.)

The Wines

CASA DUMETZ GRENACHE, SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, 2015
200 cases produced.

A luscious co-fermented blend of five distinct vineyards creating a beautiful expression of Grenache from Santa Barbara wine country. Blueberry pie fruitiness, exotic spices, true maraschino cherries and dirt. Grenache is a wine that is still forthcoming for many people even though it is one of the most widely planted grapes in the world.

CLEMENTINE CARTER MOURVÈDRE CURTIS VINEYARD, SANTA YNEZ VALLEY,  2016
91 pts. Wine Advocate. 100 cases produced.

Planted originally by the Firestone family on a protected mesa on loam soils, this stretch of the Santa Ynez Valley is where many of the original wine estates were established in our area. This Mourvèdre is consistently plush and rich, a sincere product of it sun-loving location.

THE FEMINIST PARTY, SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, 2017
100 cases produced.

This is a luscious red blend showcasing premiere Santa Barbara County vineyards from all of our distinct growing regions. 40% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, plus a secret weapon of 20% Graciano.

CLEMENTINE CARTER GRACIANO, SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, 2017
This wine is so new it's not even on Sonja's website. I haven't even tasted it yet, but I have it on good authority that it is awe-inspiring.

CLEMENTINE CARTER GRENACHE ROSÉ, SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, 2017
230 cases produced.

Rosé is in the air and everyday, all day, all year long is an ideal time to enjoy this beautiful and versatile wine. It zings with fresh botanicals, fragrant rose petals and just picked summer garden herbs. Two vineyards are co-fermented for this “intentional” rosé that delivers on every level for luscious and savory goodness. A tiny secret ingredient of Grenache Blanc provides added richness on the palate, making this a pleasure powerhouse.
